They don't turn "blue," but they certainly do go opaque before a shed. It's not a problem to spray the snake while spraying the enclosure.

    Re: Albino shed

We spray our snakes when they shed along with the enclosure.

I think it's called going into the blue because the opaque has a bluish tint to it and so do the milky white eyes at some point.

    Re: Albino shed

I have an albino. When he is not in shed the eyes are pretty red. When he is in shed they turn a very light pink. They do change color, just not that blue/silver look.

    Re: Albino shed

My albino shed on Monday, and I had no idea he was about to. I never saw his eyes/skin fade or change colors, and he never skipped a meal. I'm sure the signs are there, but they are a lot more subtle than in other morphs.

    Re: Albino shed

If his shed came off in pieces rather than all at once, its probably a sign that you need to keep him a little more humid, a snake should always shed his sking in one piece... Just keep and eye on humidity and make sure its around 50%-60% all the time, and during shed maybe bring to up to 70% humidity.

    Re: Albino shed

They do go opaque, but it's REALLY hard to tell sometimes.
