I love both of these guys, but the one on the right is almost EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Is there a way to find them, or a specific name or type like this, or just search until I get lucky?

Re: Albino High/Low Contrast
So there's no name or nickname for the really light yellow? Is it more or less desirable...
I've been seeing albino balls at such low prices, my fingers are crossed that the low contrast, very light yellow is even cheaper haha

Re: Albino High/Low Contrast
Some people refer to them as 'faded albinos'. I believe the brightness is passed on from their parents, both of the two I posted pictures of are a nice yellow. They are also 50% het for pied, so I am hoping the one with the orange outlines around the yellows is getting that from his carrying of one pied gene.

Re: Albino High/Low Contrast
would high contrast be more or less expensive than what I'm looking for?

Re: Albino High/Low Contrast
High contrast generally go for more I'd generalize, but it's a little bit hard to objectify what is high contrast and what is faded.
I doubt if anyone was selling a faded or washed out looking albino they would be selling it at much of a discount, if any. I'd just hunt around at shows trying to find a really motivated seller.
Either way they're great looking snakes and the probably the single most important mutation to the history of herpetoculture.

Re: Albino High/Low Contrast
I'm finally getting a rack that will allow me to add to my 1 BP collection, so I'll be on the lookout at the Tampa Repticon and possibly the Sarasota show if I make it out...If not I'm between Tampa and Gainesville so possibly the Jacksonville or Orlando shows....

Re: Albino High/Low Contrast
Alot of people tend to prefer breeding albinos from normals and hets that have a redused pattern. This is kinda backwards to me. The thing is, the white areas on an albino are what would have been the darkest black/brown markings if it were a normal. If I were to breed for pattern differences in albinos I would choose hets and normals with the absolute most patterning possible. Black backs, heavy banded, very busy patterns. This would eventually result in very high white albinos with much less yellow/orange markings.
I prefer albinos with more white than anything.
