    Blood python

Hey, I found a 2 1/2 foot male Blood Python on Craig's List for $100 and thought It was a nice deal. I read up on them and seems how they are semi- similar to Ball pythons in thier heat needs ect... though I would go check him out. Any suggestions?

Well, first of all, that snake is not worth $600. I'm not boasting or anything, but my blood was $350 shipped and came from high quality blood lines and looks a lot nicer than that snake. Secondly, if you have done your research, and have the ability to care for a blood, the decision is up to you to buy it or not. $100 is not a bad price for a set up and the snake. But Bloods are not for beginners, so if you don't know what you're getting into, my advise would be to not buy it. Also, i am always slightly wary of buying animals off CL.

yes, the person who posted it meant the enclosure and snake were worth $600, and I'm taking both as of now that enclosure will be for his quarantine, then after that probably get a boa or something to put in it, lol.

I'm more than happy to give a lil blood handling a snake and have a few years with snakes in general, so this will be a adventure, but I'm petty sure I can handle it.

LOL! $600...man, he got ripped, if that's we he really paid.

Sounds more like marketing hype for people who aren't familiar with snakes, particularly bloods. The boy we got from Kara blows his away and I can guarantee you we didn't pay no $600. for him. He's def worth $100, but I'm ALWAYS leary of such deals. My first question would be, why so cheap?

    Sorry, can't stop laughing... $600...

The add specifically says the snake is worth $600 and the cage is worth $300. So the claim is you're getting a $900 deal for $100 which is not true.

I personally would not get it. I think you can get a much nicer snake for the same price at a show, online from a reputable breeder, etc.

    Re: Blood python

Sorry, but I had allready bought it before I got the rest of the responses. He is quite larger than two feet, more like four, he has some stuck shed, but a quick soak will help that. Over all he is looking good, healthy, wants to take my head off, very talkative

    Re: Blood python

Remember, don't let your highest temps get over 90F. From what I have my Blood in, room temperature is awesome! I keep the snake around 80F-83F during the day and it drops a bit at night, like the high 70s. Bloods are awesome pets, but definitely not for beginners. I got two Bloods and look forward into having them into adulthood.

Have fun with your Blood! He's probably just stressed so that's why he's hissing and trying to take your head off. Give him a week to settle in, keep the humidity up and the temps right, don't let it get too damp, and he should calm down a bit soon.
