I too believe the weather has alot to do with it. Alot of people use a cooling period. Then simulate a rainy period to get the females to ovulate. Alot do not. I am one who lets nature work on its own. I believe the crazy weather we had this year stimulated the females to ovulate early in the season. The only thing I did was start misting the females about a month after the first locks were noticed. I dont think there is a genetic connection between mother and offspring concerning ovulation and egg laying. One of my females ovulates the exact same time every year. Her eggs were down less than 2 weeks after the date they were down last year. I believe this was because I did not put a male with her right away due to a quaranteen period for that male. Some females will ovulate like clockwork at the same time every year and some will not. The parents have nothing to do with the timing though.
