Im sure youve posted it before but how many bps do u own?i currently own 24 and i can honestly say its hard not to keep the number from getting larger. especially when i see craigs list adds for them. i took in a normal female around 4-6 years old from craigs list, decent weight but had sum serious healed scars on her side. Needless to say shes doing much better here and got the nick name scarface even tho theres no scars on her face.
At this time I only have 11 ball pythons. At one time, I bred 73 snakes. I got out of snakes for a few years. I started back last year. I've bred corns, kings, balls, sand boas, dumeril's boas, beardies, leos, yellow and red ackies, greek tortoises and tried my hand at chameleons too over the last 24-25 years. I've decided it's balls from now on.

This is the first snake I've bought on a whim. Every snake I've bought up until now, I've been very disciplined. Only buying the quality snake and the exact morph I wanted at that time. I don't know if this one will fit into my plans, but I had to give this guy a chance. Maybe I'll sell him later on, or maybe I'll find something to put him with.

Reptiles can be habit forming, but ball pythons are the king at this. It's hard for me to see a ball python I don't like. However, I'd have 1000 snakes if I didn't stick to my plans.

    Re: New/Rescued/Kinda Pin

To be deserving of the title "rescued" or even "kinda rescued", I think the animal needs to be in a pretty dire situation. That Pinstripe looks like he has a decent amount of body fat, even if he isn't 800 grams at his age.

Personally, I think most animals in this hobby are probably overfed a little bit, not that that's necessarily bad. Just saying, I believe you are basing average weight ideals off of animals that are being fed very generously (maybe overfed a touch).

    Anyway, beautiful animal!

Just because it was on CL doesnt mean you 'rescued' it.
