Iris cb70 rack and 400-500g bps

I have my iris70 rack with nothing in it. I have 4 scattered 28qt tubs holding my 400-500g bps in them. If I give them 2 hides and plenty of clutter can the go in the cb70 rack. I don't want them stressed and I'm tired of screwing with 2 repti-temps. Any help is appreciated

Alright, I have a spare ranco. But the only problem is using ultra therms wit
them and 2 is one shelf, 2 is on bottem and setting the ranco at 96 gives me a 89-93 for the top 2 tubs, they seem fine but the bottem 2 get I. The low 80s. Then I set ranco higher only to get 100s for top and low 90s fr
bottem. Switched to current set-up of repti-temps. It works 90% of time cause I can't be there for constant tweeks. Any advice on that then. L the temptation of waiting makes want to by some adults lol

It really depends on the individual, while most people start using 41 quarts with animals over 1500 grams, I have and are using them with some animals as small as 500 grams.

Doesn't work with all of them which is why you need to be on the top of everything and know YOUR animals.

certainly does depend on the individual. yes, i only have two right now, but they prefer totally different environments which i have accomodated
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

You could put them in it, but if they go off feed, don't blame Big Gunns.

Re: Iris cb70 rack and 400-500g bps

Here is the procedure that we started about 3 years ago, and it has worked well for us. I keep hatchlings in ARS baby tubs. I used to move the snakes into CB-70 tubs at 500 grams, and found that many of them will go off feed for about 9 months. I didn't find that acceptable, so we tried something new. Now I will leave a snake in the ARS baby rack until it quits eating, and then I move it into a CB-70. I currently have some 1200 gram females in hatchling tubs, because they still eat. With that said, I do have some 450-600 gram females that quit eating in the hatchling tubs, but I have kept them in there, because I now feel that our minimum size for a CB-70 is 700 grams. They seem to go back on food faster in the hatchling tub vs. the CB-70 if they are around 500 grams.

    I hope that helps,

I would suggest newspaper. Put him in the tub, ball up LOTS of newspaper and fill the tub up. This will add LOTS of extra security and may help. Your animal will believe he is in a much smaller enclosure than he actually is. Try it, if it works then you can use your rack that is being wasted...if it don't work, take another route. Just a suggestion.
