I do think that reptile breedings are more exciting because you don't see what they look like as soon as they lay the eggs, you have to wait a lot longer, building your excitement up a lot more. Then when the eggs finally hatch you're like "Oh, wow!" or at least that's how it went for me.
Unless you're talking about livebearers like boas. Then one day you walk into your snake room and you find potentially dozens of little monsters crawling about in goop.
