I don't know how it would work in other towns, but here you can contact the local resturants at least and see if you can set something up where one night you get a portion of the profit, or they set up for donations. The shelter can help advertise (flyers, word of mouth) and the resturant gets a lil more business b/c people usually want to help but don't want to fork up money, and this way they can just eat dinner and say they helped. So, resturant gets a bit of extra business and the shelter gets a bit of money. Works out well here
