4x2x1 pvc cage heating question

I think I have settled on the reptirack cages, now the question of heating them. I plan to start with 3 and eventually get to 5 or even 6 of them in a stack. my house tends to stay a little on the cool side especially in the winter. what would be the best option for a uth. 2 feet of 17 inch wide flexwatt or an 11 by 29 or even 11 by 48 ultratherm run lengthwise.

another thought i had was using 11 by 23 ultratherms and "encasing" the entire stack in styrafoam sheet insulation. (with slots cut for uth ventalation") thoughts?? ideas??

In a cool room, your best bet is radiant heat panels. They will increase the ambient temperature in each cage, plus the hot spot. Here are the ones that I use for the exact cages you are talking about: http://www.reptilebasics.com/reptile...eat_panel.html

i was just checking those out last night on the internet...they mount inside the cage right? they sound so safe are they?

I too have the pvc cages and use the RHP's in all of them - they are awesome and totally safe for the snake. I have the 80 Watt RHP in mine.

Yes, they mount on the inside / top of the cage, and are safe.
