    Mite Free ..NOW WHAT

OK so I haven't wrote about this on here...so just to fill you in. The Dumerils Boa I bought back in Jan has been Quarantined since and I noticed mites on her about 2 weeks about. I dont have PAM so I picked up Natures Cure or something like that I cant remember the name. Every 3 days I would clean the tank, soak the snake etc etc etc..well then about 4 days ago when I took a look inside the tank I didnt see any so I decided to give her a bath in Betadine solution and now all looks well. How long do you think before I put her in G-POP(General Population) = Rack

Since you didnt use PAM or Black Knight your going to run into same problem once the eggs hatch. Betadine and soaking only kills living mites not the eggs.

well I used Natures Chemisty MITE OFF ... to get rid of the mites and kill the mite eggs. I used Bleach on the tank and water dish. I used the Betadine for mite Bites etc. So I will keep and eye on it for another couple weeks

i dont think mite off will kill the eggs. thats why a lot of peoples mites keep coming back, cuz they kill the ones crawling around but when the eggs hatch ur back to square one. u can order PAM online for about 17 bucks i think. its the best way to go for making sure the eggs are dead. mite off is good cuz u can use it on ur snake and kill all the mites, and PAM cannot go on ur snake.

I would keep the snake in quarantine for another month at LEAST. Two months would be better just to make sure no mites pop up again. They are clever little critters, they could crawl out of the tank and lay eggs somewhere else.

It is better to be safe then sorry, order a can of Provent a Mite and be done with it
