Without better pics, it's tough to say, but, he looks like a very pretty normal to me.

A jungle patterned normal maybe, and if it is genetic only you can deem it a worthwhile project.

If it was a female I'd certainly breed it

Well the Labryinth/Maze/Harlequinn have not proven genetic as far as I know. So good luck, but I would pair with a color morph not a pattern morph to help see if it is genetic.

Any tips on how to get better photographs ? Would natural light be worthwhile?

I have put him to two female normals and looking for a yellow belly female and what ever else I can find to put to him fingers crossed he proves out, I think Ralph Davis has proven his labbys out though.

Looks like a very nice Normal to me.

*Very few Hets have reliable markers that can be identified consistently. If he was sold to you as a het Labby then breed him as one to another het or visual. That should prove it out.

He wasn't sold to me as a Labby he was classed as a Velvet but after doing some research and contacting a few breeders it showed to be a labby with the same markings etc.

But because I haven't seen another labby in the flesh I am asking for others opinions

looks normal. just because the babies look like the parents, it doesnt make the parents genetic morphs. all offspring carry traits from the parents. its just the way of life.

    Hmm,

And could you warrent your response ? Royals vary in pattern from one baby to the other even morphs even proven genetic morphs vary in pattern take a look at the high white pied and the low white pied exactly the same genetics but two completely different looking snakes. If a snake takes on the same pattern as the parent then you can usually bet money that it is genetic as hatchlings take 50% from Mum and 50% from Dad it just depends which percentage is shown visually in the snake.

Its the way of life, Would you like to tell Ralph Davis that he's Labyrinth Jungles aren't Labyrinth Jungles and they are just normals because they look like the parents. What people mean by the labyrinth hasn't been proven out yet is that they are still under going test breedings which is what I am doing with my lad and considering I have had multiple confirmations that he has a high chance of being a Labby says it all.

Further away shots would help, being up close it's difficult to see the whole pattern.
But, the pics from RDR's site look nothing like this snake from what I can tell.
