    I find the best material is that stiff-ish, colored construction paper you can get at michaels. I used computer paper because that's just what I had handy. :-3 It needs to be soft enough so that there is very little resistance going in, so cardboard might be a bit too stiff, but it depends on the individual snake I suppose. Thanks!
