UTH Question
Bought a UTH from exo-tera (Desert), and it fits perfectly between the frame. But will I need to worry about it melting the glue that bonds the frame to the glass?

Nope just as long as you use a temp control on this so not to cook the glass and all that is inside you should be fine as well as the glue.

Re: UTH Question
If it can melt glue, your snake would be toast. Make sure you hook it up to a thermostat!

Re: UTH Question
If you are worried that a UTH will melt glue then I think you should be worried about it hurting your snake, don't you think?
A UTH will not melt glue, burn wood, melt plastic, burn holes through anything if kept regulated by a reliable reptile thermostat.

Re: UTH Question
But just an FYI for those who even use a UTH correctly. If you place this on your wood furniture due note that the heat will take all the moisture from the wood and will at some point warp and or split the wood it is on.
This will take quite some time but will happen. I was a cabinet shop guy and know what happens to wood with long periods of heat. Just a heads up.
If you can once in awhile to keep the wood nice re-seal it or orange oil it to keep the wood from doing these things..
But enough on wood..
