    Anyone in Alaska?

Hello all I introduced myself a couple months ago, I currently live in Southern Maryland, but I'm planning on moving to Alaska the end of the summer. I'm really looking at getting into Ball Pythons, but I like all herps. I'll be up there in a couple of weeks to do some school prospecting for the kids. So if anyone happens to be from Alaska please PM me and let me know. It would be good to have someone to have an aquaintance up there prior to the move. Thanks all
    PEACE

Edit: oh yea I'll be moving to Anchorage.

Nice, I can't wait to see some "real" wildlife. The squirrels here in MD are getting a little bit redundant. I did see a fox a few months ago, and a pair of bald eagles not long before that. So the past 3 years haven't been a complete loss.

Nope, but Big Gunns is planning a visit. His fans up there have been waiting years. They promise him he can do some Polar Bear wrestling to get him in shape for the summer.

    BG really is going.

Talk about a wholesale change. How does one go from living in the "Land of Pleasant Living", to the Land of Snow and Ice?

Good luck to you and your family.

Better job offer. And my parents own a house up there so it'll be no more mortgage, as long as the house here sells. I was born there and lived there till I was 5 so i guess its in the blood. My wife and I both grew up in the mountains of Pennsylvania so the snow and ice will be an easy adjustment. The town my wife is from was coined "The icebox of PA" due to the fact it is usually the coldest spot in the state, usually even 5 - 10 degrees colder than the rest of the county.

    Thanks Jim

    Re: Anyone in Alaska?

I lived there as a kid for almost two years, and my parents live there now.

It's great, you'll love it. Summertime in Alaska is absolutely the most beautiful time and place ever. Alaska has some of the best outdoor activities in the world.

Gotta watch them Earthquakes. I hear Alaska has more earthquakes than California. I know, there's a lot more Earth to quake in Alaska, but still. My uncle was in Alaska when the big one hit. He was in the military and spent a lot of time working after that one.
