Pierre - the triple het Moonglow Red Tail Boa [PICS!]
I finally found a Red Tail Boa!
I've named him Pierre.
These are some of his stats:
Ghost Het Albino x Sunglow Het Anery
Which makes him Hypo Het Albino Het Anery aka "Moonglow"
He was born in 2008, and as of 3/2010, he's 3.5ft long.
I drove from Midland, TX to Fort Worth, TX to pick him up.
That's about a 5 hr drive, but thanks to my friend coming with me, time flew by. We stopped at Chipotle, just like any other time we go out of town:
That's my burrito:

Once you eat a whole burrito, you understand what snakes feel after swallowing a whole rat. I just wanted to sleep.

Tell me his mustache doesn't look French; hence the name "Pierre".

I'm extremely happy with him... he's still young and keeps moving around, looking, 'tounging', and trying to get on everything. He'll be visiting the vet on Monday or Tuesday, as soon as I can get an appt.
Tell me what yall think and any tips/suggestions since this is my first boa. I have two ball pythons.

Nice looking boa. Salmons are one of my favorite boa morphs, and he's a prime example. You will keep him around the same temp and humidity as the balls. I keep mine boas two degrees lower than the balls. At his age, you should be feeding him every 10 - 14 days. Eventually you will maintain him on an every 14 day diet. Good luck with him.

Is there a reason younger boas have a pointy nose? and adults have more of a round nose?
I've noticed this on quite a few boas. Just wondering.
Thanks for the replies!
