Red Spots
I was checking out my pastel tonight and notice 2 small red spots on the underside of the mouth. There was one on each side of the vent. I have Kevin McCurley's book (he's from NERD) and it states...
"Small red spots and lesions are an indication of petechia that are some of the first symptoms of stress leading to mouth rot."
I am not sure if he's talking about spots INSIDE the mouth but these spots are underneath the mouth. I have had him paired up with my Spider the last couple of weeks. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
What do you guys think? Thanks.

Re: Red Spots
Some other things to add.
He's 850g
He's in a 10g tank.
He has grown so much in the last month that his hide is a bit small. I propped it up water bowl so he could fit. The only problem with it is, its not tall enough. I am having trouble finding one to accommodate his size without upgrading tank size. I might have to Macgyver something.
He's been very active in the last 2 weeks. Out of his hide, climbing up the side tank.
Could the spots be irritation from constant climbing? Is he stressed?

Re: Red Spots
i would go to a vet and get it looked at. if u start treatment now u will save money and ur snake. i would suggest switching to a tub, buying an appropriate sized hide, and leaving him alone for about a week. or upgrade his tank and hide and then leave him alone. good luck, keep us updated

Re: Red Spots
I posted a question similar to this about a week ago. I have photos posted here: http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...d.php?t=115204 . Is this what your bp looks like? If it's the start of mouth rot I need to get him to a vet. I hope you can get some answers, sorry I'm not any help as I'm dealing with the exact same thing right now.

Krystle...YES its very similar to your snake. The only difference is the spots aren't as large and dark like that. I however feed F/T so I don't think it could be from the rats.
How does your snake look now?
