    My bp is weezing

I was holding my snake last night and noticed him to be breathing irregularly almost like a weez... Although i thought R.i could only be brought on by the wrong tank temps/humidity... Cold side is 82 warm is 92 and ambient is around 80 as well as the humidity staying between 50-55.... Could there be any other causes for weezing?

    Re: My bp is weezing

Low weezing sounds are not uncommon in BPs. I know this question has been asked multiple times on this site. Actually, mines had the same problem. I mostly heard it when he was very active.

It could be a little leftover skin on the nose from the last shed.

To set your mind at ease, check his nostrils, or around the mouth for mucus or bubbles. If there are none, then it's probably not an RI.
But i'd keep an eye on him just in case.

If there are bubbles or mucus, then a visit to a reputable herp vet is in order.

well in that case i wouldn't worry too much about it. It sounds like your husbandry is right.

Like i said, mines does the same thing every once in a while. especially if i hold onto him for more than 20-30 minutes. i'm guessing he starts breathing faster cause he's annoyed at the gigantic heat signature that won't put him back in his enclosure

if I did miss something then i'm sure one of the more experienced guys on this site will call me a dork and give you an actually useful suggestion

Keep an eye on him. If he starts exhibiting other symptoms of an RI (open mouth breathing, mucous or bubbles coming from the nose and mouth, holding his head up) then make an appt with your vet.

Wheezing or whistling alone is not enough to know if it is an RI or not but chances are it isn't. Your husbandry seems fine.
