    Bldg a new rack, 28 or 32 qt ?

Gonna build a new rack. I'm sure its splitting hairs but just wondering if one size is preferred over the other ?
My local target has both the 32 and 28 qt Sterlite tubs available. I can make the rack fit either tub. They will be housing sub-adults and adult males.

The one thing i dont like about the Sterlites is the bottom is "offset" so the bottom of the tub doesnt sit flush on the heat tape. Has anyone had a problem with this ?
Going to try and find Iris tubs at Office Max.
My cb70 rack is an AP. Decided to build one this time. I know theres a good tutorial on this site as well. Thanks.

I would go with the 32qt especially if you want to house adult males in there. Its not much of a difference between then 28 and 32 but you might as well go with the slightly bigger option.

I use iris tubs and they have little feet on the bottom. I just soldered them off so they would slide in and out better. I get all my tubs from the container store.

Yeah, the sterlites have a bulge that goes all around the tub. Just wondering how that affects heat transfer. Luckily i have an office max and Target both within a mile. If Off Max doesnt have the Iris i will check online.

IMO go with the 32qt this way you can swap a 32 for 2x 15 qt if needed. I use sterlite tubs and it works perfect for me.

i also have the sterilite 32 qts and like snikttime said i can also fit 15 qt topless which is a plus. i don't have a problem with heat transfer, i used a dummy tub to get the temps just right with an acurite probe taped on the inside/hotside. my temps are on point.

do a 32 qt. You will have more use for them in the long run. You can also run 2 rows of heat tape in the back area....that is what we did with ours and our heat seems great.

Re: Bldg a new rack, 28 or 32 qt ?

So i decided to go with the new 34q sterlite just came out with at walmart. Their about 2 inches longer and only 7.50 a tub. I could of got away cheaper because i walked up with 10 stacked and they just asked how many. Of course the honest guy i am i said 10 (dumbass haha).

I'm building the rack 10 high. I'm going to groove the side of each shelf so i (hopefully) can just run 2 or 3 seperate lengths of heat tape and just have 2-3 cords.
I'm already good on the hatch rack and CB70 so i just wanted the "bridge" rack.
