Re: Xbox 360 vs PS3: What's the verdict NOW...

If you want to play games, get an XBox. If you want a BlueRay player, get a PS3.

    Way more players online.

To those complaining about the price, 12 month cards sell online for 30 bucks all day.

If you don't have 4 bucks a month to play Live, you shouldn't be buying 300 dollar gaming systems, lol.

PS3 all the way. I love that thing. I love the PS3 games. Current favorite--Oblivion.

Planet Earth on Blu Ray is pretty spectacular, too. It's totally worth it.

Re: Xbox 360 vs PS3: What's the verdict NOW...

Ok I have both the Xbox 360 And the Ps3....when it comes to online gaming like call of duty and sports games online I vote Xbox 360. You will get the 3 rings eventually everyone has or will its covered under the mfr warrenty the first year after that is 99 bucks or something. Now for the Ps3 you got the blueray dvd player inside but the online play isn't that hot and the main reason why I prefer the 360 is because 95% of the game for Ps3 are 720p HD output when the games for 360 are all 1080p. But I do keep my Ps3 around especially for God of War and a couple other Ps3 exclusives. Hope I could help you out man.

So I traded in my 360 games, HD and controller for a PS3 and all I can say is I wish I had got the PS3 to begin with. Better graphics, better sound, less lag online, no monthly payments for xbox live (seriously, screw that). All around better. Not to mention I now have a Blu Ray player.
I must disagree with you my friend, the Ps3 graphics BLOW compared to Xbox and the Ps3 online is trash compared to 360

    King of On-Line Games=XBox 360
    King of Crashed Systems=XBox 360
Middle of the Road for EVERYTHING=PS3
    High Priced BlueRay Player=PS3

The blueray player WAS a good selling point for the PS3, but these players have come down in price so much, that it's not worth getting the PS3 just for the blueray player.

You can't beat the Xbox 360 if you like to play games with your best buds. It's the hands-down winner. I personally think the graphics on both are great, but I'm a fan of the 360 and always will be. I've had 2 occurances of RROD, once was under warranty, the other cost me somewhere around $100 to have it fixed. Shouldn't have to spend money on a known defect, but what's a guy gonna do.

Hardware Reliability alone the PS3 all day long but really I think they break even on everything else...though the PS3 will likely have a longer life cycle since Sony is known to constantly refine existing products where as so far the XBOX has only had changes that are mostly to fix faulty designs in the first place.

But I have heard that IF you have to have a PS3 repaired, the costs
are higher than the Xbox 360. This coming from a Best Buy Geek Squad critter.

Re: Xbox 360 vs PS3: What's the verdict NOW...

I have one of the new HDMI Xbox and haven't experienced the RRoD. Apparently its fixed as the chipset has better cooling. I did have something else fail (can't remember what it was) but I got a new Xbox under warranty. Its been fine ever since. And all of my friends have Xbox and none have ever had any issues.

In the end, both are great systems with a lot of great games. For me I love Halo so much that I had to get a 360. I was thinking of getting a PS3 for the Blu-ray, but they've come down in price that I can't justify spending the money for a PS3.

Really, either will be a lot of fun. And I agree that the Xbox online experience is much better than the PS3 having played both.

I've owned all the PlayStations and none of them have broken, one of them is a Launch PS2 and my PS3 is the old 60GB with the PlayStation 2 hardware built into it. I have a lot more faith in my Sony hardware than I do my 360. I refused to buy one until the Falcon builds were released and once they were (that's the HDMI 65nm CPU & GPU) I snagged one up and haven't had any issues with it.

My friends and I play our PlayStation 3s as much as our 360s.

Re: Xbox 360 vs PS3: What's the verdict NOW...

I have an Xbox360, and have never seen the red rings...but I don't plat ALOT either. If I were to start from scratch, I'd definitly go the way of the PS3, but by the time I traded it in it wouldn't be worth it. And considering most of the games are on both consoles, I don't want to switch just for better games and a blu-ray. So...I don't find there's much to go either way. Maybe if your really into the online gaming, which I don't use at all.
