Mammals have litters, reptiles lay clutches of eggs.

ASFs only have PED (Pink Eyed Dilutes) there have been no true Albinos to date.

Somebody ( I think in a previous discussion ) said that the red eye dilutes are not genetic. That they just "pop up" in litters.

Not so. I have 2 trios that are red eye dilutes, and produce typically 11 baby litters with 75% to 90% being red eye dilutes.

    Paradox Albino?
Good luck with the selective breeding project.

Chances are, somewhere in the world, there are probably albino ASFs.

The one in this picture, is just an Argente, which is a diluted version of agouti.
It is recessive. If you breed it back to one of the parents, you should get more of them.
Or, if you let it have a litter, and breed it back to one of it's offspring, you should also get more argentes.

I have been trying to breed the pink-eyed-dilutes for almost 2 years now... I have eventually gotten to the point of having nothing but pink-eye-dilutes in the litter... unfortunately, my breeders have gotten old now that they are only producing less than 12 babies... last litter they only gave me 5! So they are going to be retired. It's a sad day in my house. I love these guys! I'm fighting my husband on having them fed off. I want them to live out their natural lives...

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Yep. If you breed an argente, with an agouti, you should get an entire litter of carriers, but no argente (you may notice some agouti ASFs in this litter with a lighter brown colour though). If you breed a carrier, to an argente, you should get something like 50% argente, and 50% agouti.

If you breed an argente, with an argente, you should get 75%+ argente in the litter.
