    I would have gone a step further and asked if she had any remote understanding of optimal conditions for tropical species in general, and asked her what on earth would make her think they could survive in temperate environments, let alone anywhere that gets below freezing at any point in the year. Then I would have asked if she thought the same when armadillos, cattle egrets, brown anoles, and a plethora of other exotics invaded Florida decades ago. Then would have called her a hypocrite and told her to stick to chemistry and leave this subject to ecologists and herpetologists because her media-influenced opinion is worth nothing. If I'm going to be kicked out of class, I'm going to earn it.
