    Okay... is she glowing now??

I asked a few weeks ago if you thought Nerissa (normal) was glowing, and somebody said she looked a tad lighter... well, now she's dramatically lighter! They say you know a real glow when you see it, and this definitely looks like one to me. She last shed in early February, so could that have been her pre-ovulation shed - or is that still coming? Obviously I'm a newbie at breeding, so any thoughts/advice would be much appreciated. Here are some before and after pics:

The head does look much lighter....I have a normal that looks completely different and refusing food...Just waiting to catch the ovi and your pretty much good from there, then prelay shed, then eggs....Key is catching the ovulation....good luck..btw some snakes get alot more of glow and others don't...I have a het lav female that is due to lay in 3 weeks or so and her color didn;t change that much...

Thanks for the info! I'm not really sure what's going on with her, especially since she hasn't eaten in so long (5 months)... so I'm afraid I'll miss her ovulation/building, seeing as she's kinda thin right now. To be honest I'm nervous about even letting her have babies, since she'll waste away to nothing! She is still a healthy ~1750g, but was over 1900 when I got her in September. Guess it's too late now, right? I just hope she goes back to eating after laying, if she ever does...

Keep trying to feed her about once a week with smaller meals..Its amazing that she has gone that long in only lost 150 grams....If she is a little thin try feeding like I said and trust me u will not miss ovulation specially that ur snake hasn;t eaten. She will start looking a little thicker before ovi and then like what did she just eat...its that noticable....good luck..usually after the glow about a month later u should see ovulation...
