Re: How do you deal with the dissapointment ?

Is it possible to put a down-payment on the snake, and then save money until you can pay it off in full?

I mean, if it truly is the animal of your dreams and you honestly don't think you will find another like it in “1000 years,” than it would be worth a shot to ask.

In the US you can sell blood, right? Kidding. Well, kind of. I would not advocate anybody going into debt over a 'want', unless you are really, really sure about it. Only you can decide that.

But if, in the end, you cannot get it, than know that the future isn't written in stone. You never know; maybe in a year or two, when you've saved more money, a snake will come along that has an even greater impact on you. That kind of thing happens all the time, and not just with snakes.

True story: Last xmas I got upset because I missed out on getting an XBox 360 that went on sale (online only, but I forgot to log in that day and they sold out) -- but a couple weeks later one of the Xbox 360 bundle packages went on sale for the same price, and it included the wireless adapter (regularly $70 by itself) and 2 games, one of which I really wanted and usually cost $50 by itself.

Man, I would have been so ticked if I had spent the same amount of money on just the console alone.

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
