I would also suggest you check out the nearest upcoming Reptile Expo. You will be able to see a lot of different breeders and their snakes, and know where your pet came from. When I got my BP at an expo I was even able to meet/hold his daddy.

Plus, the prices are usually lower.

If that is not an option, than I might also suggest buying online. I've not done it personally, but there are many people here who have and with great success. I'm sure it would not be hard to find some highly qualified and respected online sellers.
