I let mine hang in the center of my incubator, just off the bottom of the middle shelf about an inch and one half. I don't know about taping it to the heat tape; I have never done it that way. I would think that you would have to set it higher on your t-stat to have the actual heat in your incubator at the correct temp, but that is just my guess as that is what happens with racks when you put the probe right on the tape. Maybe someone else who uses theirs that way can chime in. Thanks for your kind wishes!
