How does it work?

obviously you can give +/- rep to posts.

but how do the points actually rack up?

it says I've received 11 rep points. But only lists 1 point.

Do you start with a positive value?

Or do you get more rep points based on the authority / rep of the person who granted you the point.

Remember, the less you worry about rep points........the more you will receive.

ah, thanks guys! tried to find a sticky or something must have missed it / looked in the wrong section.

I'm not worried about rep . As you can see I've only got like a dozen posts. More a reader than a writer. Was just recently talking about it with my girlfriend, and was curious
