Re: bearded dragon ?
Most, if not all, of the people i know use a lamp to heat a rock, and the dragon gets belly heat from the heated rock. I don't know if undertank heaters can be used in place of that. If you have a lamp you may want to consider a MVB, as this will give you your heat and UVB requirements in one bulb

Re: bearded dragon ?
I agree with Dem although I have only had my beardie for about a month. I read that it is very dangerous to use a heat rock as they do not recognize if they are getting burnt on their belly's. Use a heat lamp or you can get a powersun bulb or a reptisun bulb....this way it will give them their UV that they need. If you do get a bulb like that you will need calcium only...no D3

Reptisun makes a bulb? Or did you mean their Tubes

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Re: bearded dragon ?
Beardies LOVE to bask, so a basking bulb that will give you a basking temp/spot of 110F-115F would be perfect. They love it hot! Belly heat would not be needed, Beardies just bask most of the time and will not need belly heat.
