    There is a big difference between eating an animal whole and just part of an animal. A plain chicken breast is only meat. No bone, no hair, no organs and not very much water comparatively. You are better off feeding a whole rodent than just a piece of a chicken. The snake will get all the nutrition it needs from the whole rodent.

    Ball pythons thrive on whole rodents so it would probably be wise to just stick with that
