    Re: Panther Gecko?

I've seen it as both P. picta and P. pictus, and I really have no idea which one is 'official'. I do know the gecko has been a 'Pictus gecko' since I first started researching herps in the early 1990s.

I also want to complain that some sort of automatic filter is capitalizing those species names when I post. I did not capitalize them, because of course, only the genus name should be capitalized.

I found this, browsing around for the info:
    Synonyms:
    "Diplodactylus pictus PETERS 1854: 615
    Phyllodactylus madagascariensis MOCQUARD 1895
    Diplodactylus robustus BOULENGER 1896
    Paroedura oviceps - KLUGE 1993
    Paroedura pictus - GLAW & VENCES 1994: 266
    Paroedura picta - BAUER et al. 1995: 54 "
