    Feeding ????

Hey all! Tonight was feeding night and this is the second meal hes ate for me? I feed him again in his tank and next time im going to try to feed him outside of it that way he might not get tank aggression. My question is that he just ate and I noticed he didn't go on the hot side of his tank he is on his cold side in the hide. My temps are 92 hot and 81 cold... Is this normal for him to do that. Last time he went to the warm but maybe im just over worried . What are your all thoughts?

BTW i still haven't picked him up.. these books i got said after the second feeding to try to hold him after 48 hours ...cant wait

There's no reason at all to feed outside of the enclosure, it's not going to get enclosure aggressive....

    Re: Feeding ????

the only reason i have ever fed in a separate enclosure is because i was using aspen substrate and it would cause all types of issues for my snake. but now that i am using newpaper i feed inside. u dont need to worry about feeding inside. if ur snake will eat there and not have any issues then why change

some prefer the colder side. as long as it can keep his belly warm and temps wont drop down too low he will be fine. how are u controllin the cold side temps?

Red 75 watt bulb over they hot side over the heat mat... that temp stays between 90-95 the heat mat is controlled to and the light is keeping the cold side warm and that is right know at 82.5 and the ambient air is 80

if it holds steady there then he should be ok. if he gets cold he will slither over to the hot side for a while if he needs to.

    Re: Feeding ????

Feed in its enclosure. Even if swallowing aspen will NOT hurt them. Taking them out to feed will cause more refusals than successful feedings
