    JSTOR Scientific E-journals

This is a big database type thing with all kinds of old papers stored on it which can only be accessed-stupidly- via certain participating libraries/colleges/Unis etc, but what they don't tell you is there are squillions of different journals and you won't gain access to ALL of these if you sign up to one of these institutions. You only get access to the ones the institution has picked to have access to... so a Uni that specialises in say film, media, and the arts will only have access to relevant journals.
I need access to an old Journal of Herpetology paper and I joined the British Ecological Society but they dont have it apparently (great). Is anyone enrolled at a Uni on an animal/wildlife related course where you can log in and find something like this for me? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I'm desperate.

You might try contacting Dave Barker of VPI.

    http://www.vpi.com/

He's got an astonishing herpetological library that includes hundreds, if not thousands of papers, as well as countless books from all generations of herping interests. While I can't imagine he could physically share his library with you (two different continents and all) he may be able to point you in the right direction to find access to the papers you need.

EDIT: He may even have some of his papers scanned into digital formats by now. I know we talked about him doing that a couple years ago.
