    Ingested some bedding... okay?

I just fed Kipling the JCP his first fuzzy mouse, and while he snatched it right off the tongs, it took him a while to get in position for eating... he tried it sideways at first, but realized that wasn't happening. In the process of moving around the tub he got some (Carefresh) bedding in his mouth, most of which I was able to extract with the tongs - but some of it definitely got ingested. Will he be okay??

Before the next feeding I'll either switch him to newspaper bedding, or start feeding him in a separate tub, which I've never done with any of my snakes... only way to keep this from happening again, though! Just want to know if he'll be okay after eating a tiny bit of Carefresh, and in the meantime here are a few pictures from the feeding:

What?? I can fit it in this way... right?

How on earth did dog hair get in the water?? I swear that stuff flies, since the dog's never been near the tub...

He SHOULD be okay. Snake digestive acids are pretty freaking strong and should be able to work on carefresh enough so he can pass it, depending on how much was ingested. It was a good thing to notice, and just keep an eye on when he poops.

Thanks! And Kip says thanks for the compliment too. He's much more yellow in person, but the flash washes out his coloring... I can't wait to see how he matures. Anyway, I'll just keep an eye on him and his poop!

+1 for him being okay. that bedding seems small enough to be digested. In the wild and captivity animals ingest a lot of things and are usually okay.

Thanks. He seems perfectly fine, with a nice plump belly after that meal... he was definitely ready for a fuzzy, and is quite the voracious feeder!
