Incubator Temps

The general consensus is to incubator Ball Pythons eggs at 89 degrees for about 51 days.

I was just wondering if most of you set your incubators to 89 degrees and your tub temps inside are around 83 degrees?

Do you set your incubator temps higher to acquire 89 degrees inside the tub?

I was just setting up my incubator getting it ready and was wondering how others do it.

I'm not sure why you have a lower temp inside the egg tub, it should all stable out and be the same temp.

Now I use a walk in incubator so it might be different but we set it at 89 and the eggs take about 59-62 days.

That is interesting. This will be my second season using this incubator. I Gave my old one to a friend. But I did not notice this last year. I had no problem with it. I am going to tweak with it while I still have the chance.

Don't make it to hot. If it stables out I would hate to see you loose any eggs.

Oh no I would never make it to hot. I am also using new tubs. So what I was thinking is that they might not be sealing to well. I just went down stairs and put saran wrap on the top and held it down with a rubber band before putting the lid back on. Lets see how this work.

don't use saran wrap, this was a mistake I first made. use glad press n' seal, it has a sticky side, saran wrap doesn't compare to this stuff. you won't need a rubber band with this stuff.

I am stacking a few of them so I do need the lids.

I just need to work out the kinks with this new incubator I guess. I will see how the temps are when I get home later tonight. If they are still not right I am going to move the probe further away from the fan.

I just can't believe I did not notice this last year. I am kicking my self in the rear end. I mean everything went well last year but I don't like to miss things like this.
