You probably want to get Kipling onto rats as soon as you can - and he certainly should be able to take a pink - or even fuzzy - rat without difficulty. Carpets can imprint on mice, and feeding an eight foot jungle a half-dozen mice a week will get old in a hurry!
In any case, yeah - the li'l dude would appreciate some larger snacks, I think!
