    My BP dosent drink water

I have never seen my ball python drink any water, nor sit in his water bowl. He does not seem to care about it. I was told they like to drink after they eat, well thats not the case when it comes to mine. Is this abnormal?

Re: My BP dosent drink water

I've never noticed that mine drink after they eat, but I would be inclined to think they would be less likely to at that time. They will drink occasionally, but BPs don't drink like mammals do because they are so much more efficient at preserving water. If your BP is thirsty, s/he'll drink. It's probably that s/he does drink, you just don't see it. Just keep clean water available, they'll take care of themselves.

for most bp's its rare to see them drink. ive seen all of mine just a few times. there is an exception to this though cause there are some that drink a lot there is a video of one that even does it so often there is a video of it on this site. bp's get most of their water from the food they eat but they definitely need the water dish. when they do drink your more often than not... not going to see it.

I rarely ever see my ball pythons drink, but the water level in the bowl can drop dramatically overnight, lol.

My male Albino takes a drink EVERYTIME he eats. Once he gets the rat down the pipe, he heads off for the water bowl. EVERYTIME.

He could be drinking at night when you are sleeping. They get hydrated from their prey as well. Each BP is different!!

I bet yours drinks from time to time.
I've only caught my snakes drinking by walking in the room and they were in the process.(not often at all)
I had a e. hognose that would drink like a horse while I held him over my dog's water bowl, when I was growing up.

They drink, you're just not seeing them.

I've seen mine dip their noses in their water bowls on occasion. If your BP pees, he's drinking. Try offering fresh water more often. I've seen mine most often go drink after I've changed their water.

I've seen mine dip its nose once. I haven't seen it again. Like everyone has said, it's rare and it's probably at night. It's nothing to worry about.

    ahah speaking of drinking.

Just had ours out so we went to put him back up. When we put him back in the tub he went over to the water and dipped his nose in and started to drink
