    Ovulation "tail suck"

One of my big girls is ovulating today and I've seen some people talk about the belly scales near the cloaca of an ovulating female, but I've never seen anyone post pics of it before to show what they're talking about. I decided that I would do just that for people who aren't sure if they've got an ovulation or not since this is the best method I use to tell on my big females. I wouldn't have even known she was ovulating if I hadn't seen this since she's so big. Anyways here they are..... I hope this helps someone out there

Thank you for the picture. I think it might also be helpful to have a comparison picture on the same snake when she is not ovulating. Is that possible?

I've never breed before and I would not have thought of this either. Thanks!

This would make a great sticky if it was a little more complex!

I'll get a pic up of her when she's not ovulating for ya as a comparison. I'm not sure how, but somehow I got logged in as another username that I had created and forgotten about a while ago..... anyways, I'll get those up for ya when her belly looks normal again

The picture is very interesting but me personally, I wouldnt pick up or bother a snake thats ovulating. Its looks SO uncomfortable as it is, I couldnt imagine disturbing the poor girl.

I'm not trying to put you down or say its bad for the snake or anything like that, I really couldnt say one way or the other. I just feel sorry for the poor thing.

Once again pics are interesting, thats for sure.

I know what you're saying. I didn't want to bother her at first, but then I remembered all the posts I've read about people not being sure if it's ovulation or building and how much info like this could help those people out. She was only out for those two shots.... literally 5-10 seconds if that long and then right back in the tub she went and stayed. Now the wait is on
