    Olympic Curling

Anyone else want to take up Curling as a hobby? I don't know why this is so interesting. Maybe because it seems so simple, everyone thinks they can do it.

    Re: Olympic Curling

I would have to say it is a lot harder than it looks. I've never played, but i do know that is is a game that comes down to fractions of an inch. Being able to slide a rock at just the right velocity and trajectory, anticipating the curl that will happen, and then sweeping the ice to place the rock exactly where you want it is no easy task.
    Control is an illusion.

    Re: Olympic Curling

It looks easy but its not, it actually takes skill to be able to make the rock do inturns and outturns and also able to use the right weight in throwing the rock

    Re: Olympic Curling

I imagine it like bowling x horseshoes. Which, if you think about, would be PRETTY difficult...

Curling is a sport I'd like to try for sure! As it stands, the closest thing I've done to Curling is Crokinole.

    Is shuffleboard on ice!

That being said, I find it very entertaining to watch.

    I'd try it, for sure.

    Re: Olympic Curling

Curling as actually the only thing I usually watch in the olympics. Hockey being a close second. I try to watch every game that I can! I love it! The closest curling team to me is about an hour away and I just cant drive that far to play.

    Re: Olympic Curling

I curled for about a year. Its amazing how easy the Olympians make it look. Lets just say i wasn't on my way to the Olympics, its hard, but fun.
