Well I'm from New Jersey, not that it matters, but I'll lend a little help. I'm real new to this site, but I have owned my share or ball pythons. For the hide, you should make it a tight, but comfortable fit, they like to feel secure in small tight spots. As well, you should leave the bottom piece off of the hide so that the snake can still get the heat from the heat mat, and if possible, put one on the cool side too. As for humidity, you could get a cat litter box, and use that as a water dish, if that does not keep the humidity boosted, you could buy an automatic mister, they have time settings, so that you could set it for every two hours, and so on.

As for names, I don't usually give suggestions on that, but some that I like are:
