okay so i have a very gracious enclosure for my 2ft 8in girl and i just picked up an 09' male measuring at 11in i have him in a 10gal right now but i was wondering if i could house them together? the cage is very large for this girl and has plenty of room for the two of them. will they be fine if i add two exrta hides and separate them for feeding.

Re: okay help?
I second what Monty said. It is breeding season, a 09 male can breed this season. If he locks up with your female, you would either need to expect a clutch of eggs, or an egg bound female. Either is an ordeal to deal with.
Also, since you just picked him up you should QT him for an appropriate time period.
Edit: Putting them together because someone says "prove me wrong" would be a very stupid idea. Please, keep them in two enclosures.

Re: okay help?
I would hate to be the one to prove him wrong. I'd feel bad for my snakes.

Re: okay help?
There is a long list of reasons NOT to house them together, some of which have already been mentioned.
As far as a good reason TO house them together? There isn't one.
Since you already have two enclosures, do yourself and your snakes a favor, and keep them separate, like a responsible keeper does.
Sure there are people who keep snakes together all the time, sure they may successfully do so for many years. The question you need to ask yourself is this...Is the very real risk worth the tiny little gain? To me the answer is no.
