My corns burrow under the newspaper. Give them 5 or 6 layers or more and they will figure out a way under it.

In fact, they prefer the newspaper to the aspen. I experimented with aspen by tossing a couple handfuls on top of the paper and they still burrow under the paper under the aspen.

Thanks for the tip. A few of my BPs like to burrow under the paper, and one of them will even push the paper into his hide - guess he likes double security, LOL. Maybe I'll try giving the corns newspaper from now on, since I really don't like dealing with actual substrate.
