So proud!
I woke up this morning, went to switch on the daytime light, and peeked in George's hide....and found his shed!!!!
The shed came off in two pieces, the head (with eye caps!), and the body-completely intact!
He is so gorgeous! Earlier this month, I had posted that I thought he had some dry skin on his head, a few people thought it was from the sand he had been in.....well, it was definitely iridescence!
Everywhere George is black...he has that bluish shiny look to him, and his head is more blue than black! Is that normal after shed? Or, is my snake a little special?
He has also been switching hides between the cool and warm sides! So...yeah....there is my newbie excitement! So happy everything went well...I was so stressed trying to make sure his humidity was perfect!

Re: So proud!
Snakes usually look exceptionally beautiful right after they have shed. Iridescence is not uncommon, although it does sound like your snake might have more than average. It can be hard to capture in a photo, but I can't imagine you'd have trouble knowing the difference between iridescence and dry skin when you are seeing it in real life.
Glad to hear he had a good shed for you!

Re: So proud!
Cool,
They always look extra cute and shiny after a shed. Now is the time to dig out that camera and get snapping.

Congratulations! Successful sheds never get old, and as Dr Del said, the best time for pics...
