Sorry, but because you are only 13, he might have been wary of making a deal with you as opposed to making a deal with your father. I myself don't make business deals with minors. It's not that I don't think there are responsible minors out there.. or that I think you yourself are a irresponsible minor.. but legally, no contract can be called binding if the 2nd party is a minor.

But agreed with the rest.. first money talks. It's not the seller's problem to arrange for the buyer to be able to have the funds or have permissions to buy a snake. But luckily for you, there's a lot of snakes available, and I'm sure you'll be able to find another snake you want.

I found an awsome Lesser girl on Kingsnake. She was just what I wanted, I'd been wanting one like her for months. And to make matters worse, they were letting her go cheap because she was a mouser. But $750 might as well be $750,000 if you don't have it, and I don't.

She went fast of course, at half what they normally go for. I was ready to bawl I tell you. I'm trying to be philosophical about it, someday I'll have one, but it's hard to be patient sometimes.

Yup, the breeder always has the right to sell to the first person with the cash, all the cash. Holding an animal is 100% the breeders right to decline. I think the guy could have told you he wasn't interested in holding the animal but still totally his right.

Yeah I know but when your 13 (like me) and you only earn 140 dollars here and there a month (like me) you dont have all the freedom of being able to buy a snake real fast, you have to save up for one. i just needed one more paycheck at the start of March to Get her!

My advice to you is to find someone that will work with you on a payment plan (some do) however I would have one of your parent dealing with the business end of the transaction as most breeder will not conduct business with a minor.

I am sure your ideal snake is out there sometimes you just need to be patient.

I would love to have an albino, but I think the only way I could ever get one is on a payment plan, which luckily a lot of breeders will do...

You might want to send him an email letting him know that you was interested in the snake, deals fall thru all the time.

Yes I was going to have My dad do this for me but I didnt have the money at the time and I just needed to put her on hold for 17 days.

$140 a month is a lot of money for a 13 year old. Just saying.

You didn't have the money but you wanted to have the guy hold the animal for two and a half weeks for you.. and trust that you, as a minor, would get the money in that time and still want the animal?

You have no reason to be mad. That's a bit of a unreasonable plan for getting a highly desirable snake(a female morph). I'd suggest you get the money together first, then have your father do the deals for you, or attend local shows with your parents to get the snakes in person. Just my advice.
