    A little help with something...

My first Male normal Ball Python (Gregory Osiris) was shedding and after a day or so, he still had a tiny shed left on his head and down a part of his neck, and he retained his eye caps... so after many video's of youtube I decided to help him out a little bit.

I soaked him for a half hour in luke warm water, and got out the towel and a Q-Tip in case he had retained any eye caps. Well he was very obedient he stayed still and let me continue to soak the shed with a q-tip over the top of his head with no problem, and I lightly (ever so gently... because I didn't want to hurt him) was pulling at the skin. Well he jerked and both eye caps came off, but I noticed something that I didn't know if I should be concerned about. I have a picture that I am going to upload and tell me what you guys think...

Basically what I am seeing is a tiny Pink divet in his snout... What is it?

I think that's it too... but I'm usnure. He jerked rather quickly, so my slow pulling wasn't that effective.

    Blurry but looks "pink"?
Should not be a problem. Like was stated probably pulled off a scale.
As long as you keep clean and once a week some "orig. Neosporin" should do the trick. This may take up to and even beyond 6 months but will heal and will look normal.
Now I used a Q-tip with a very small amount on the area , not a glob of it and rubbed it in.

No worries just keep an eye out on it and if it really starts to look funky or you see ooz / puss then see a vet. But otherwise it will just take time..
    Good luck.

Oh this is all based off od this is a missing scale hard to tell from the pic..

    Hope this helps

Well if it happens to be a missing scale (Because at the end he kinda rubbed his head against my hand) will a new scale grow back? Or should I treat it with something? I'm trying to google it, but I trust the information here more.

I have this amazing digital camera... but it couldn't be found. It is a pinkish color, and yes it is in the shape of a scale. He is otherwise very healthy, and very active. I am just concerned for his safety--I will purchase some medicine for him, and keep an eye on his snout. Thank you.

Yup that is it.. I had the same on one of my babes but on the top oh his head.
Just keep clean and if you have some origional Neosporin to dab just a lil on once in awhile you will be fine.. It will take a spell but will come back in.. Just will take time.. long time.lol

Good luck and no need to panic.
