Tail Wiggle
I'm just curious, but do Leos normally wiggle their tail while eating? Mine likes to wiggle her tail just before she lunges at her prey, and sometimes will continue to wiggle it while munching on them.
I know they will sometimes wiggle a lot when stressed, scared , etc, but she seems to be doing it out of happiness/pleasure. She has never nipped, hissed or bit at us, and she always seems eager to hop on our hands and play around.

Re: Tail Wiggle
Don't you love it when they do that? My guys are too fat and lazy, they hardly ever wiggle any more, but I do get a kick out it when they do. Some will continue to do it through their entire life and others will slow it down as they get older, depends on the Leo but it is perfectly normal.
I've read that they do it to confuse the prey so they have a bit of time to grab it. I've read that they do it to attract attention away from the prey and themselves should someone else be looking at them for dinner.
Both make sense to me and maybe they lose a bit of that after a while in a safe environment.

Yes, my girlfriend and I both get a kick out of it. Sometimes, she only wiggles the tip, and sometimes the entire tail. You can even see her smiling while she munches on the cricket or worm

Re: Tail Wiggle
Every leo I've ever fed has done that at least some of the time. AFAIK, it's completely normal, and it's definitely entertaining to watch.
Mountain bikes are for slow people, and reptiles are far better pets than cats & dogs!
