You said you were on the edge of buying the Kraft Paper the other big breeders do....

I was just saying that not just big breeders use Kraft Paper.

    Re: Bulk newspaper?

My local newspaper will give away the end rolls (which are huge, we get them and let the kids draw on the paper and stuff). You can also go to local newspaper retailers (grocery stores, etc) and ask if they have any papers left over from the day before and some of them will give these papers away free (I got a huge stack for my bird cage for free). Hope this helps!

    Re: Bulk newspaper?

I talked to my local paper and they sell them to a local paper recycler.

I can buy end rolls like the ones you describe.

    BUT.....

I would get an 800lb roll of 4 foot wide unprinted newspaper thats roughly 275 feet long at....

    50 cents a pound

    Do the math.

    It's not very economical

Oh ok, I was thinking of the paper a friend of mine uses. It has ridges in it. I looked it up once but never got it.

    Re: Bulk newspaper?

Had to have been either indented paper or like single faced cardboard I would think.

I've used the Indented Kraft before, pretty absorbent, but the paper weight was higher so it wasn't as "soft".

We have have a local classifieds paper, which is free, that I just grab a stack of every month or so and we also have a free Wednesday paper. Maybe there are free papers in your area or close by?

    Re: Bulk newspaper?

I just posted this link in another thread earlier. It's another option if you choose. They also sell unprinted news paper sheets...

WW, I love that Cheeto thieving seagull in your signature...

But then again, he got from the bottom shelf, so it's probably something like Tom's Cheese Curls...
