    how do you know?

i am currently in the process of purchaseing some normal bp's that are 100% het for albino.... how can you tell the difference in 66% and 100%? Ive see the markus jayne pages on breeding and such, but could it be possible that if i buy a 100% het for albino female it might be a fruadulant snake? i buy mice from the reptile store and the guy offered to get it for me from the breeder he knows.... i am learning and bideing my time on breeding, so i can learn as much as possible before i try it, just like as a parent i am responsible for every living thing i bring on this planet.... all help and advice is greatly appreciated....PEACE..

The only way to tell a 66% and a 100% het is to breed them and prove them out. Is it possible to get a fake het..Yes which is why it's so important to buy from a reputable breeder..

one i am purchaseing from a reputable breeder online, the female is the one i am buying from the owner of a local reptile shop who knows the breeder, he has a bunch of 100% het males in the store for sale.... i know he had a few albinos earlier in the year but he sold out, so i guess its possible to have all those 100%, but thats my uneducated guess,lol....

    Re: how do you know?

The only thing you can do is buy form a trusted source and ask for paperwork.

'Paperwork' normally involves a picture of the snake in question along with information (and a guarantee) regarding the genetics (ie what the parents are etc)

The only thing you can do is avoid unknown sellers and dubiously cheap animals.

In your example of het albinos you would KNOW your snakes are het albino because a source you trust says at least one parent was an albino.

no crossing of fingers required. Buy from a known and trusted breeder.

No idea on average current US price, i'm in the UK.

If you're stuck most people on here can recommend a good, honest breeder.
