    heatwave rainforest under tank heater

    i have that is it okay as an undertank heater? or is the zoomed one better?

    the guy told me to get the desert one but i was told that the desert one gets wayyyy to hot!

    and apparently this rainforest one helps with humidity


    what are ur thoughts?

    The only difference between the Rain Forest and Desert UTH's is the amount of watts they run at. The Desert can get hotter because it can run at a higher wattage, which is good for reptiles needing the higher temps. For BP's, as long as you are using a thermostat, they will both work like every other UTH...

    For either one, you will need a reptile thermoSTAT to control the temperature. It doesn't really matter which one you get since you would set it to the same temperature anyway. UTHs don't really affect humdity levels..

    The rainforest does not get hot enough. I used one for a tub and I could not get it warmer than 85* and that was in a warmer room in my house. I have deserts on the tub I use, but you do need to regulate them.
