Sinoloan or Scarlet?

Just yesterday, I watched the movie Snakes On A Plane.

I'm not sure whether or not I regret it, since it was an amusing movie, nonetheless, but it was the live snakes in the special features that caught my attention. One of which, was the Sinoloan Milk Snake. They come from Mexico, if I am correct.

While looking for the Sinoloan on google, I came across the Scarlet Kingsnake, which can be found in the United States. They look strikingly similar. I imagine they must be a related subspecies, if not the same.

Point of the story is, I am captivated by these two. Moreso the Sinoloan. How many hobbyists do you know that have these beautiful snakes? How much do they go for, and are they popular among herpers in the States?

I don't know about in the states but I love sinaloans.

Good examples are simply stunning looking animals.

As soon as I saw one on that screen, I just decided that I have to have one.

Another species that blew me away was the Red-Tailed Green Rat snake. So sleek and beautiful. But probably nigh impossible to obtain here in Canada.

I have a Sinaloan that I got from a private breeder here in Utah. He usually sells them for $60+, but I got my little girl for around $20 due to her birth defect....which causes her tail to remain curled in a knob. It doesn't affect her any, though shedding can be interesting.

She is one of the sweetest snakes, but still a bit shy....she's just a hatchling. She's ever so curious, though and loves to hang out with me when I watch tv. As far as care goes....one of my easiest, by far. Here's a couple of pics of her:






I'm not sure about the scarlet King, but that one sure sounds lovely, too. I'd imagine they both are relatively easy to care for, though. Most Milks and Kings are. Whatever you decide to go with, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Exclusive Snakes breeds many old world rat snakes, including the red-tailed green. I dunno if they have any this time of the year, but they're typically at all the Ontario expos. http://www.exclusivesnakes.com/
I have seen other vendors with them, but I don't remember who they were and if they were responsible for producing them.

$60+, that's IT!? Wow, I was expecting something a little more... well, just expensive. I suppose they're fairly common, where they come from, so I guess there's no need to charge too much. So beautiful.

I'll definitely be researching care. They are on my list... *Switches eyes back and forth*
