Anyone use the Container Store containers?

Haven't been too active with posting on the boards lately, mainly lurking and reading up on old posts. I've only had my bp since last May, so I've still got plenty to learn!

She was just under 2 feet long when I got her back in May and I've been keeping her in one of the Critter Keeper ~17"x11" cages. It was a perfect size for her, but only temporary as I didn't want to get her to nervous in a big cage when I first brought her home. She's roughly 2'6" now and in need of a bigger cage. I will eventually build her a cage or get one of the plastic cages from Animal Plastics or repti-plastics, but I don't want to make that plunge until she's closer to full grown.

I'm looking to get something that will last her until May of 2011 when I graduate college and move on to a more permanent location. Does anyone have any experience with the under-bed containers here? They look like a perfect size, sufficient until she's roughly 3 1/2 feet long, which should be about the time I'm ready to build her a final cage.

I know a lot of people recommend the Sterilite containers, but I haven't found any in stores here and the Container Store seems to have some perfect sized boxes at a really good price. Thanks in advance!

I use a similar sized container-not sure on exact dimensions-in my rack i built. Works great even for full grown.

I have a 6 tub rack from repti-racks and it fits the boot boxes from the container store and i love them. They are all smooth on the inside which makes it super easy to clean. And they have little feet on the bottom so i would think it would be safer with belly heat.

Thanks for the replies. I had seen the boot boxes too, but was worried it would be too small. They're 22.5" x 14.75", so I'd have to size up again when she reaches about 40" right? She's right around 30" now, so the box wouldn't last her too long.

What's the biggest snake you have in boot boxes, redstorm?

Ive purchased about 300 -6qt containers for racks, from them.
it was pretty expensive but they are the only place around here that had the exact size and type i needed.

Thanks or the replies guys. I was actually at walmart earlier today and looked through their plastic container aisles. They had a few 34qt locking Sterilite tubs (#1926 I think). I got one of those and will spend the next few days or a week getting it all setup.

My question is, what size UTH should I use for it? It is roughly 26.5"x18"x6.5".

    Thanks!

    Totally!

OP, why worry about setting up something temporary? Sterilite or Omnibox will do you just fine. Haven't checked out this "Container Store", but your local retail or home improvement store will have a decent selection along with the tools you need to set up a good, permanant home for your friend.

Make sure with the tub you put in a hygrometer

I believe the rule of thumb is you want the UTH to cover 1/3 of the floor space of your enclosure. Make sure to hook it up to a rheostat or themostat, or else you'll melt the plastic

WOW I should have checked the dates on this post!
