I have been using unprinted newspaper as the substrate in my bp enclosure from day one. It's easy to clean up, and is cheap, but it doesn't hold humidity.
I was thinking about changing to a wood/cypress/mulch type substrate. Would that help with keeping humidity up in my enclosure (I currently have a wood cage, with flexwatt and a heat panel for heating).
What do you folks think is the best stuff to keep up humidity, and to clean? And speaking of cleaning -- how do you clean up that stuff? Does it clump up when the snake urates? Do you replace it all? Sorry, never used the stuff, so not really sure.
Also, do you foresee any problems (stress) by switching substrates?
Thanks,
George
